Why Natural Deodorant?
Conventional deodorants are filled with chemicals and additives that block your body’s ability to sweat. Sounds awesome to not be sweaty, but what it takes to prevent the sweat can be harmful to your body. Many people get rashes or irritated skin from some of these chemicals. Aluminum has been linked to cancer and Alzheimers. Phthalates can be also found in plastic that can mess with your hormones and possibly even fertility. Antifreeze, formaldehyde and paragons are a few others to boot. None of them good for such a sensitive area of your body that will enter your bloodstream.
Soooo Do Natural Deodorants Really Work?
I definitely had to try a few, and they were put to the test with the summer heat in Austin, TX. I finally found one that has worked for me and it’s cheap and small to throw in my bag. This link will give you a $10 discount for your first order (which actually covers the cost of the deodorant so you just pay tax + shipping!) This tiny thing has lasted me 4-5 months! So I grabbed two and keep one in my bag and one at home.
Detoxing will help you pull some of the chemicals out of your skin so that your natural deodorant will start working quicker! You can finally get rid of your chemical bar you slather on everyday without realizing!
How to Detox?
Gosh, it’s so simple I almost feel silly writing these out — but let’s do this.
- Grab some Bentonite Clay
- Mix it in a bowl with apple cider vinegar or at your local grocery store
- Don’t use a metal bowl or spoon — but mix and slather on your pits.
- Leave for 5-10 minutes, up to 15 for non-sensitive skin.
- Wash off, I’d recommend in the shower because it’s kind of messy!
- Sniff your pits!!!
